1. Who we are

Got Gout ("we", "us", "our") provides an AI-powered purine and nutrition tracker designed to help people manage gout. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data: email address, authentication identifiers.
  • Health & profile data: age, weight, gout history, medications, hydration, flare logs, dietary preferences you enter.
  • Meal data: photos you upload, AI-generated nutrition and purine estimates, meal history.
  • Payment data: handled directly by Stripe; we never store full card details.
  • Device & usage data: basic logs for security and reliability.

3. How we use your data

  • Provide meal analysis, plans, hydration and medication tracking.
  • Personalize recommendations based on your profile.
  • Process subscriptions and prevent fraud.
  • Improve the accuracy of our AI estimates.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. AI processing

Meal photos and text inputs are sent to third-party AI providers (e.g. Google, OpenAI) solely to generate the analysis you request. We do not sell your data, and providers are contractually restricted from using it to train their models where applicable.

5. Sharing

We share data only with processors that help us operate the service: cloud hosting, authentication, AI inference, payment processing (Stripe), and analytics. We do not sell personal data.

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen, which permanently removes your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including GDPR and CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit, hardened cloud infrastructure, and role-based access controls. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong, unique password.

9. Medical disclaimer

Got Gout is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding your condition and treatment.

10. Children

Got Gout is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email.
